Minecraft Pigmen won't stop attacking me?

I'm on multiplayer, and pigmen have been attacking me for over half an hour. I can't do anything. I've tried pillaring, ghasts ruined that. I've tricked a few off of a cliff, there are more… I can't do anything, please help. So many pigmen…

You need to get as far away as possible which unloads the chunks that they're in, only way to stop them attacking is to unload the chucks which can be done either by getting far enough away or leaving the nether.

You need to be outside of their search radius (40 blocks or so) for around 1 minute, so making a bridge across a giant lava sea and destroying the end so they can't get to you is a good solution.
