Honestly, it's quite difficult to choose here seeing these two games are completely different from each other. I'd go with Minecraft for it being more worth for its buck. From what I see, J-stars is a repetitive fighting game and it gets boring easily. But you're into button mashing to pull off combos, then go get it.

The things you can do in Minecraft is endless. The vanilla game offers so much content. Since it's sandbox, there isn't really a goal. So you can do whatever you like. Be it build a castle, a city, build traps, etc. If you're on PC, the modding community is fabulous and there are tons of mods to enhance your Minecraft experience. And if you get bored of playing by yourself, connect to Multiplayer and play with others on a server. Servers come in different types and you're sure to find one you like.
