Minecraft Mo' Creatures ostriches not laying eggs MC 1.7.2?

I'm trying to get a pet ostrich but when I pen up females with males the females never lay any eggs. I've seen video tutorials on youtube but in the videos the ostriches are laying eggs left and right but I can't get a single one. People also say in the the video that it's easier to find ostrich eggs in groups of ostriches in the wild but I can't find any eggs whatsoever.

Try to set up a pen where only one male and one female is in it, rather than having many males and females together. Also, do note that ostrichs tend to lay eggs at night and the duration it takes for this to happen is extremely variable. Also, you must not stray too far from the pen as the chunk they are on might unload and halt the "birthing" process.
