Minecraft Launcher Won't Work? - 1

I was playing Minecraft on a computer running 32-bit Vista SP1 and it worked fine, I then updated the computer to SP2 and here's where the problem came. I opened Minecraft like normal, hit "play" the launcher closes itself like normal then opens a new window that's completely black, a moment later the window closes and the launcher re-opens to where it was a second ago, I hit play again and the cycle continues. I then deleted the Minecraft launcher, the.minecraft folder and reinstalled java, restarted the computer and the same thing happen. How do I fix this? Anything helps, thanks

Try going into the Options before clicking play, and Force Update which will delete any mods you have installed and give you a clean jar file
