Minecraft 1.8 problem installing?

So when I came on minecraft this morning it said 1.8 had come out, YAY!
But, when I press play, it downloads the 1.8 file then goes back to the play button. I keep clicking the play button, but it just installs different things, and I can never actually run it. I just installed the JAVA SE 6 runtime or whatever. I'm on mac by the way

If you have avast anti virus or any kind of other anti virus try to disable it and than launch the game. I had the same problem and my anti virus blocked the connection of minecraft to the internet thats why it never worked.
