Is there a release date for the Minecraft 2 game yet?

It is not announced yet, and it won't be announced. Minecraft WILL get updates (if you're talking about the pc). Your question is unclear as Minecraft 2 doesn't and won't exist.

They won't make a Minecraft 2. They will just keep updating the actual Minecraft game

Minecraft 2.0 at one point was a april fools joke (last year or the year before i think) and that version won't get a release but the actual minecraft may get a 2.0 release when they have got to 1.9 and continue working on it
