I had went to some websites and a few had said it was out and other say it isn't. There's also a youtuber with the name Thinknoodles and he mentions in a couple of his videos that he uses 1.8. So I thought I could update it to 1.8 and when I tried it started playing 1.7.10. So if Minecraft 1.8 is out then how do I get it? And if its not then when does it come out

As of August 27 no minecraft 1.8 is not released, although the 1.8 pre-release is out but the 1.8 full release is not out.

According to the official mojang website 1.8 will be out on the 2nd of september but it may be a bit later.
To use the snapshots for 1.8 (The Pre releases) go onto the launcher and click "edit profile" "enable experimental versions" Then scroll to the top and click 1.8 pre release.
