I downloaded Minecraft. Opened it but don't know what to do. What do I do?

Watch some beginner vids on youtube. Usually it's more fun if you play with your friends. So maybe make a server or have a friend make one so then you can all play together.

I would give you advice to play but I haven't played the game for about 4 years so I don't know what's been changed and added. Which is one of the great things about minecraft they devs are always adding new things and changing them.

You can also go online and look for some big servers that groups of people already have but they can be hard to play on and very confusing to start playing.

I recommend starting with some basic how-to-videos William Strife does good ones.

The basic idea is you want to harvest the world around your for resources. Initially this is just to survive, but as you progress it becomes less about survival and more about creation.
