Okay so I installed java (I think, i mean the bin and lib come up and stuff) and I can't run any.jar files. Not optifine for minecraft, I can't download plugins for minecraft or anything. It has the java picture and when I go to open with i can select Java (TM)Platform SE Binary. I have not done anything else but I can't seem to get jar files to run or work. I'm new to this so cut me some slack. Sorry and I hope you'll help me. I'm on windows 10 btw

You don't run.jar files. A.jar file is a package file, not an executable file. It contains information, not a program. And it really doesn't matter what system you're running, the.jar file won't change. (Sorry).

What exactly happens when you double-click the jar file? "Can't seem to run" is a bit vague.
The Java (TM)Platform SE Binary means the JRE is installed, but try reinstalling it. Uninstall the current version, then download and installed the most recent one: http://java.com/...m/download
