Yes, I know this is the stupidest question to ever exist, but I went to the website and clicked on the link at the bottom, but there's no button for updating, thank you for the help

Make sure your computer has an internet connection and then open the Minecraft launcher. Let it sit there for a few seconds to a minute to let it auto check for updates in the backround (the time it takes to check is based on your internet connection speed). When it is finished, if there's an update it will begin saying instead of "Play" it will say "Download and Play" and when you click that it will donwload the latest version of minecraft that it has found and install it. Then it will open Minecraft as usual and you will be playing the latest version when it does.
