I play minecraft and i just got a new computer. Its a macbook pro if this helps. I originally played minecraft on a laptop (its a PC). Since i got a new computer, i would very much would like to play on my current minecraft worlds on my mac, without having to start over. I saved my minecraft worlds to a flashdrive, and downloaded the game onto the mac. What i don't know is, what folder do i have to put my minecraft worlds to? I know how to take the folders out of my flashdrive if this helps, but if anyone knows what folder i should put my minecraft worlds on my mac so that i can play them that would be helpful. I'm sorry if this sounds like a "dumb" question, but i need help.
How to tranfer minecraft worlds?
Go to your user directory(folder). Then go to AppData.
You will need to set explorer to view hidden files and directories because AppData is hidden.
To see the hidden folder (appdata), you need to press ALT when you're in the User folder a row of categories will show up (File, Edit, View, Tools, Help)
Open tools and select Folder Options.
Click the View tab and check "Show Hidden Files, Folders, or Drives" and press OK.
You will then see AppData directory, so open it and open Roaming directory.
You will see.minecraft in there.
When you're inside the.minecraft directory, open the saves folder and there's your saves. Each folder in there will be your game saves. Copy the whole folder, for example. You have a save called MyBigMansion. Just copy that folder onto whatever you want. If you're copying it to another computer with minecraft, then put the save in the same location as where you got the original save from.
