First of all, I would suggest for you and your friends to start channels of their own. I think it's better and more fun like that. Plus you can help each other grow.

These are some tips that helped me (I have 160 subscribers right now).

1) Upload good quality content. All of your videos should be 720p or 1080p (720p will do, most YouTubers upload 720p videos). This means that you need to get a good recording software/capture card and a good video editor.
2) Good recording softwares for PC: Fraps and Dxtory are the best. Best capture cards for consoles (PS3/PS4/Xbox 360/ Xbox ONE) ElGato Gaming Capture Card.
3) Good video editor: Sony Vegas Pro, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere
4) GET A GOOD MICROPHONE. You should get a professional microphone like the Blue Yeti or a Blue Snowball. If you don't want to spend too much money on that, you can get use a headset mic. Most gaming headsets have a mic. Turtle Beach is good for consoles. Razer Kraken Pro or Razer Kraken 7.1 are good for PC.
5) Upload videos that have content from now. Don't upload videos of old games, people don't watch them anymore.
6) Use thumbnails. The second thing that attracts viewers is thumbnails. (the first is the title)
7) HAVE FUN! If you don't have fun, what's the point?! If you sound boring in your videos, people will notice that you don't like doing this and they won't watch more.

It's free to make a channel, buy/download some sort of recording software ( If you have a 6xx series or higher NVIDIA graphics card, you should use shadowplay. It's free and doesn't hurt the framerate much. Otherwise, get Dxtory, it's the next best thing ). Make sure you have either an SSD or a fast Hard drive to record onto, otherwise your framerate will suffer. Get yourself some sort of software for video editing ( I don't suggest movie maker ).

You get views and subscribers by making high quality videos, and posting them to websites such as reddit ( Make sure you're in the correct subreddit ). Don't go around advertising your channel explicitly as nobody likes that.

1. Preparing yourself
What's worse than an unprepared gaming
channel? Nothing. And what do I mean by
preparing yourself?
a. Be ready to spend a lot of time.
Yes, it takes a lot of time to grow a fan base on
Youtube. You can't post 1 video and expect to
get a thousand subscribers on your first day. One
of the main rules here, is be patient. By spending
a lot of time, I also mean you will spend a LOT
of time recording, editing, rendering, exporting,
uploading your videos and managing your
channel. So if you don't have a lot of time to
spare, if you're at school and you've got exams,
do not join Youtube, unless you are ready to
spend a lot of time.
b. Be ready to spend a lot of money
I hear a lot of people saying that when you start
Youtube, you HAVE to have an excellent mic, full
HD quality, play whatever game you are playing
at an amazing frame rate, and have the best
editing and recording programs. Wrong!
