So I just bought minecraft on my Windows 8.1 computer. When I first bought it, it opened straight up and everything was fine. There was no icon on my home screen and it did not show up at all when I searched for it on the windows 8 start screen. When it was open, I right clicked on the icon and only the option to close came up. I have to go to the Minecraft website just to open it. I really need help! Please!

Then use File Explorer and go to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu and drop in a shortcut to Minecraft.
Switch to the start screen and search for Minecraft. It'll pop up and you can pin it."
