How to make a multiplayer world in minecraft?

So my friend and I want to play on a world togther and already have a file for the world. We just need to know how to make it assessable for both of us

You have to make your world into a server you can either pay monthly for one or make one for free just watch this video

With the files you downloaded, run the server.exe and Minecraft. Do not close the server.exe because it is required for you to run the multiplayer world.

Have your friend connect to another your server, log into Minecraft, select Multiplayer from the main menu, click the Add Server button, and enter the IP or web address of your server.
