How to install Optifine for minecraft On a dell inspiron?

I need to install minecraft on my dell inspiron and tried to by useing the easy how to guides but i failed So I need i to be explained to me in a really really dumbed down way so can get it>

1. Go to the optifine website (https://optifine.net/home)

2. Select, and download the version that you need. For example if you are running Minecraft 1.7.4, you would download OptiFine 1.7.4 (https://optifine.net/downloads)

3. Right click, and open the file you just downloaded and click install

4. When you load the minecraft launcher, go to the profiles (Which will say default if you haven't tinkered with it), and select "OptiFine")

By the way; I have assumed you're using the current launcher, which in 98% of cases is correct.
