Okay so long story short I play minecraft. (I'm 14) And I do this thing called 'Minecraft Roleplay' and it sounds weird. It kinda is, but I swear It's not all that bad. None the less I met friends on there, like those friends who you can share /everything/ with. Who you love. I've been like, best friends with them. She took my phone while I slept. Found my discord. Now on discord I got a ton of messages with these people. Weird messages, like just random ****. She is going to ask me about it. I don't want to loose my friends! I love them so much, what do I do?! Thank you all for the help. This is very rushed. I'm sorry.
How to explain internet friends to mom?
IPhone dumb ***
Try to be as honest as you can and tell her all the good things you have with them, and dude I play minecraft and roleplay sometimes too lol I'm CalPaex
Tell your mom and promise her you don't do anything dangerous or bad on the internet, because if you're playing minecraft it sounds harmless to me. Your mom's probably just worried if you tell strangers on the internet about your private info or something
First off, I completely understand this as I also roleplay in games and I'm in my 20s. Roblox, Minecraft, Second Life (which is 18+ don't go there until you're old enough!) Etc.
Now, just be honest and say they're cool people you play the game with and you guys act out family stuff or whatever like pretend, make believe, acting, etc. All for fun and it's innocent.
Not really a big deal or something for a parent to get upset over.
Tell her that it's like having a pen pal.
Or that even though you have never physically met them, you've bonded with them a lot. Say that you do skype calls with them, laugh with them, talk to them a lot, and that they make you feel better when you're having a bad day. Say that they never make fun of you or make you uncomfortable. They're easy to talk with and they make you happy.
I have friends I've never met in person, and I enjoy phone calls with them just as much as I do with my "in person" friends.
Tell your mom and promise her you don't do anything bad on the internet.
