How to chance the time setting in Minecraft multiplayer?

I really want to change the 'day' setting in Minecraft multiplayer to 'night' but I have no idea how to do it. Any tips?

If you play on console then you can't change the time of day unless it's alright night and you sleep in a bed.
If you play on PC and you have server permissions then type in " /time set night " and if you want to get it back to day type in " /time set day ".
