Does the game Cube World require internet connection at all times?

Is Cube World like Minecraft where you have to have internet to play Multiplayer, but can play single player without internet connection?

I logged into the Cube World launcher once and ran the program. Then I closed it and shut down my computer. I turned my computer back on and turned off my internet connection and it turns out that I can play Cube World without internet connection. Of course, it can't update without internet. I guess you have to at least log in once in order to play offline single player.
