Can't play Minecraft but can play GTA IV?

On my computer I have windows 8.1 installed, however this proved to be a mistake as it turns out that there are currently no correct compatible drivers for my graphics card.

I can seem to play games like Crysis 2 and GTA IV but I can't play game like Minecraft, I also found out that when I launch Photoshop I comes up with an error about disabling 3D effects.

Graphics Card:

Current Display Driver:
ATI ATOMBIOS

Another thing I noticed is that when I used windows 7, the Approx. Total Memory was 1024MB
However on Windows 8.1 it is 2809?

Does anybody know where to find a driver for this GPU or does anybody have a way to fix this?

If you can't open up Minecraft, maybe your missing Java since the game runs on it. The graphic card and Hard Drive can't be it. Check your RAM (ex. 4GB, 8GB, 12GB memory).

Well, it looks like AMD dropped support for the HD4000 series and earlier in January 2013; there have been no driver updates since. And Win81 came out after January 2013, so no official support exists.

If the Win8 drivers won't install on Win8.1, the only real solution might be to upgrade your video card. Or downgrade your Windows I suppose.

The problem probably isn't with the PC, but with minecraft. Try a clean install and see if it works correctly.
