If you're just posting to rack up views, yeah, it's tough company. Tubers like SkyDoesMinecraft have good content, so they get the views.
Post for yourself and your friends and have fun with it - you're entering a saturated community. If you really want jus the views, you'll need to have some very original content.

I have a couple tips as i have a youtube channel myself.
1. Be yourself in your videos and do what you wanna do.
2. If you wanna get more views then add tags to your videos.
3. Don't be afraid to ask for subs at the end of you video (Ex: "Make sure to like, comment and subscribe, thanks for watching!")
4. Don't give up. Someday you will have alot of views and subsribers! It takes time to build your fanbase.
5. Do collabs and give other people shoutouts.
