A while ago I got Minecraft on my Samsung tablet. I read something that said "You only have to pay once and you can get it on ANY device!" And I was wondering if since I already bought the game on my tablet do I have to pay again? And if not does anyone know how I could get it on my phone for free?
Can I get minecraft on my phone?
Yep on any phone, I have a Microsoft (Lumia/Nokia) windows phone. I play it from time to time on it. Great phone.
You buy Minecraft for the platform you want to play it on. Since you've purchased the Android version (Portable Edition) on your Samsung tablet… You will be able to get the game on any other Android device (like your phone).
The only catch is that you'll need to log into the same Google account (since the DRM keys from the Google Play Store are stored in your Google account) in order to download the game onto your phone. If you happen to have an iPhone or Windows phone, you'll have to re-purchase the game as you're using it on a different platform.
If you bought it from Google Play and have another Android phone, logging in using the same account should let you redownload it for free.
If you have an non-compatible device (Amazon Kindle Fire, iOS device, etc) then you'll have to buy it again. It won't transfer over.
