I'm looking for a laptop that can run games like skyrim, minecraft, fallout, gmod, etc. It has to have a backlit keyboard and I'd like a laptop that looks really nice (black or some sort of brushed design.) please don't recommend anything that doesn't follow my guidelines.

Just look at the machines available to you.
For "Skyrim" You must find one that has:
- Windows 7/Vista/XP PC (32 or 64 bit)
- Quad-core Intel or AMD CPU processor
- 4GB System RAM
- 6GB free HDD (Hard disk drive) space
- DirectX 9.0c compatible NVIDIA or AMD ATI video card with 1GB of RAM: Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 or higher; ATI Radeon HD 4890 or higher
- DirectX compatible sound card
- Internet access for Steam activation
anything less will not make for enjoyable game play.

There's literally no gaming laptop with a back-lit keyboard for under $800, not to mention it would have slightly above average specs than a normal laptop. If anything, the cheapest would probably be around $950 or more (factoring in sales). I personally use Asus' Q550LF (about $1100 for the unit alone) and it's got pretty much everything I need for hard-core gaming.
But if you look into gaming desktops/computer gaming "sets" you can easily find one under $800, and certain gaming keyboards are back-lit.
As for portability, you can get one of those portable carrying cases for XBox One or PS4 that (supposedly) has room for a small screen or monitor. Some (depending on the maker) might also have a small power supply that last up to around 10 hours of gaming (most gaming laptops can reach at least 9 hours of game play without being on the charger).
