Does this mean that I can't play minecraft now?

Since I updated to Mac OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) and the only version that was compatible with 10.10 is java 8, it won't run my Hexxit and Attack of the B-Team minecraft. I looked this up and it said that those two minecrafts won't run on java 8. Is there a way to fix this or will I not be able to play them now?

You have to put a code into Terminal that allows Yosemite to run Mavericks programs, like Java 7. Once you put the execution code in there, you should be fine.
NOTE: Putting a code into Terminal can alter your entire Mac OS X experience, and it isn't recommended. Only people trained in the proper field should attempt this.

I'm not sure what version of java they require, but you can have different versions of java on your computer ( windows based OS ), Since your talking Mac I'm not sure if you can install an older version of Java…

You " might " be able to download / install an older version ( so you'll have 2 versions of Java ) on your Mac…

This is an iffy thing since your running a Mac…

Downgrade to OS X Mavericks. 10.9.7 or something
