I have search up on Youtube and they all say you have to open minecraft file with winrar and drag all the file from the mod into it, but when ever I try it never work. Does it have to be full version minecraft?

No, it doesn't have to be the full version of minecraft. However if you are referring to the free trial version, mods will not work. If you are referring to a cracked version, it ill work but unfortunately most mods require minecraft version 1.7.5 and under so it some mods will not work on the latest version, 1.7.9
You have basically done the correct method however you must have installed minecraft forge before that process?
If not go ahead and do that (minecraft forge is only available for 1.7.5 and under)
