How to fix the freezing issue with Minecraft 1.8?

Tried reinstalling Minecraft?
Delete the files(after backup) under C:\Users\username\appdataoaming\.minec…
Then redownload everything by starting the game from the launcher.
If it still happens I would look into cleaning your java cache.
Also, check for Java updates(If you are using x64 Windows you will need x64 Java aswell for it to function properly).

How much RAM do you have dedicated to minecraft? With every update it becomes more RAM dependent which means you will have to slowly increase the RAM that minecraft can use.

Try updating Java's runtime environment (8). I was having terrible lag before as well. Now it runs fine for the most part. I don't know why 1.8 wasn't compatible with the old version of Java

1.8 stutters for me unless I run in FullScreen(F11)
